On Monday, June 15, 2009, Mt Olivet Hospital was renamed St Vincent's Brisbane.

Mt Olivet Hospital was founded as a hospice in the early 1950's and has stood as a place where compassionate care was delivered to all who crossed the threshold. The Mount Olivet name, the cross and the Sisters of Charity crest has come down from the building and will be replaced with another name which is synonymous with compassionate and innovative health care in Australia - St Vincent's. The design of the St Vincent's logo incorporates the cross and will continue to stand as testimony to of the healing ministry of the Sisters of Charity.

St Vincent's Brisbane will continue to be a health care leader, developing a refreshed and contemporary medical hospital to help meet community demand in the decades ahead. With the expansion of new services, St Vincent's Brisbane will have a dedicated focus on medicine. The services will be expanded beyond the existing profile of rehabilitation, inpatient transitional care, interim care and palliation. New programs in pain management, general medicine and geriatric medicine will be introduced. This specific and synergised range of services will provide a unique approach to improving patients' treatments, comfort and care.

The name change will bring the hospital into line with other Sisters of Charity hospitals throughout Australia. St Vincent's Brisbane continues to be owned and operated by St Vincent's & Holy Spirit Health.
