Welcome to St Vincent's Health & Aged Care (SVHAC).   

We are one of the largest not-for-profit and non-government hospital and aged care providers in Queensland.  Originally, SVHAC was formed as a collaborative partnership between the Sisters of Charity and the Holy Spirit Missionary Sisters.  Today, we are a member of the St Vincent's Health Australia group whose health services include large public hospitals, private hospitals and aged care facilities in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria.

Jointly, across Australia our facilities comprise four public hospitals, seven private hospitals and 10 aged care facilities, totalling over 2,500 hospital beds and 1,100 aged care places.  Our services employ approximately 13,000 staff, are affiliated with over 2,500 Medical Practitioners and Specialiasts, with over 1,300 volunteers also providing support services.  Each year our health and aged care services treat and provide care to over a million people.

In our Queensland hospitals and aged care facilities, we provide a large range of services such as:

• Private emergency services;
• Pathology services (via joint venture);
• Sub-acute medical services;
• Palliation services (public and private);
• Rehabilitation services (public and private);
• Pain management services (public and private);
• Interim and transitional aged care services (public and private);
• Residential aged care (low care);
• Nursing home care (high care)
• Community care; and
• Retirement living.

These services are supported by medical, nursing and allied health education, a strong commitment to quality improvement and continued growth in both outreach services and our service to the poor and marginalised.
